CWDM optical modules use optical multiplexers to cleverly multiplex optical signals of different wavelengths into a single optical fiber for transmission. At the receiving end of the link, the optical demultiplexer accurately decomposes the mixed signals in the optical fiber into signals of different wavelengths, which are then connected to the corresponding receiving devices. This sophisticated process greatly enhances the flexibility, economy, and reliability of networking, laying a solid foundation for the construction of efficient communication networks.
The wavelength coverage of CWDM optical modules ranges from 1270nm to 1610nm, with a wavelength interval of 20nm forming a waveband, totaling 18 wavebands. In practical applications, the 1470nm - 1610nm waveband is the most commonly used. Different wavelengths can be distinguished by the color of the optical module's pull ring. This user-friendly design adopted by Coreray Technology for the CWDM series SFP optical modules greatly facilitates the identification of wavelengths used in gigabit Ethernet channel mapping, bringing many conveniences to user operations.
