Description

The Mini-SFF optical module, also known as the Ultra Small Outline Transceiver (USOT), features a 10-pin BIDI (single-fiber bidirectional) FC interface. This compact optical communication component is designed for high-density, high-efficiency fiber-optic transmission. Its key feature is bidirectional data transmission using a single optical fiber. By integrating wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology, the transmitter and receiver use different wavelengths (such as 1310nm/1550nm or 1490nm/1550nm) to transmit both uplink and downlink signals simultaneously over a single fiber, significantly conserving fiber resources and reducing cabling complexity. The module features an FC-type optical connector with a metal threaded locking mechanism, ensuring a secure connection and strong vibration resistance. It is suitable for industrial environments or communication scenarios requiring high reliability.


This module uses a 10-pin electrical connector. The pinout typically covers power (Vcc, GND), data transmission (TX), reception (RX), signal detection (LOS/TSD), and control functions, and is compatible with standard communication protocols. Its USOT package (likely an ultra-small optical module) features low power consumption and high integration, supporting SFP or similar form factors, making it easy to deploy in high-density ports on switches, routers, and other devices. Applications include fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), 5G fronthaul, data center interconnection, and long-distance transmission, offering both cost-effectiveness and transmission efficiency.
